Information about SUG and SIPO Introduction SUG does not officially exist, it is just a group of former and current employees of SSH Communication Security Corp, who adapted the SSH IPVia Security Gateway (also known as the "Box") for general use. Most of us use the "Box" as a firewall. SIPO was an internal "code name" for SSH's hardware VPN project. No matter what marketing said ("SSH Complete VPN" or "SSH IPVia") it was always SIPO to most people at SSH. The official project was grounded by management in the spring of 2002. Quickly after the cancellation the project, SUG ("officially" called GPL SIPO) was "founded" by Jouni Malinen and Marko Teiste. SIPO is dead, long live SIPO. Users Pre-built images You can use prebuilt images to set up your "Box". To upgrade IPVia SGW ("Box" with official SSH bootloader), you must first upgrade the bootloader using ssh-signed-bootloader.image. The standard bootloader will only load official SSH signed images, you cannot use it to load other images you may find here. For further instructions, see the README file. Note that the signed bootloader may not be the most recent one available. There is no legal way we can make an image that can be loaded using the standard SSH bootloader. The signed bootloader upgrade was created with an explicit one-time permission by SSH, but this project does not have the tools or licenses to sign new images. Tarball If you want to, you can compile your own images from scratch. Either use the tarball in files or download the cvs version. Support and mailing lists Currently there are no active mailing lists anywhere. If you have questions, you can always send an email to me or Jouni Malinen. Developers What's new? Please add entries for all non-minor changes to the ChangeLog so that it will be easier for others to follow what is going on. [stick to the format used by Jouni, anything else will barf the script that creates the list of recent changes in the front page. mte] CVS access You found this place, so you already know that the epitest respository cannot be used any longer. See cvs for up to date information. Development mailing list Does not exist at this time. Marko Teiste 2003-11-12 08:10 © 2003, Jouni Malinen & Marko Teiste
